Hadassah

Hadassah’s vision is of a world where our Jewish values in action create strong community and an enduring Israel.  Hadassah’s promise is to connect and empower Jewish women to effect change.  Hadassah’s three pillars are: empower women to advocate, build strong leadership and community, and advance health and well being. Behind all of this is our love of Judaism and Zionism.

Even before Israel became a state, it was Hadassah that established a health care infrastructure in the Holy Land, and a standard of excellence that continues today.  Hadassah gave Israelis their first modern health facility, their first university hospital, their first bone marrow clinic, their first comprehensive cancer center, their first embryonic stem cell research center, their first liver unit, their first organ transplant unit, their first skin bank, their first trauma unit, their first DaVinci robot surgical system, and their first and only OPTIMA CT660 revolutionary Computerized Tomography.

Hillcrest Hadassah, in existence for over 60 years, meets together with Sisterhood the third Tuesday of the  month throughout the year  at Hillcrest Jewish Center and sometimes on a Monday.  Look for our bulletin.
We hold Educational Programs (author lunches, Israel updates, various speakers) and Entertaining programs (movies, Bingo, Jewish book club). We also have Social Programs (Women’s Seder).

We are a very inclusive group with most aged 50 to 90.  If you are interested in receiving our bulletin, please let me know.  You can email me at berdie01@aol.com

We hope that you would like to join us!  For further information call Bertha Strauss 718-969-0147
