wraps for those joining from home). Register for lunch by calling the synagogue office.
We will be using the Etz Hayim Humash and/or additional commentaries and
interpretations. Participants are encouraged to have their own copy of
Humash Etz Hayim, which can be ordered through the office.

Join Rabbi Kogan for one hour of exciting interactive study.
In each session the participants will study a short rabbinic story from the Talmud or Midrash. After a short explanation of the background to the story, the participants will be invited to explore how the short narrative can relate to their own lives.
You don’t need any previous knowledge to participate in this class. Classes are not sequential (in each class we will analyze a different story) so if you miss a class, feel free to come to the next!
Each week we will explore a different Biblical story, studying the text in depth and discovering how its themes speak to our lives today.
No previous knowledge is required, and each class stands on its own. The class will take place both in person and online.
We look forward to your (in-person/virtual) participation.
Begins Monday, October 20, 2025
Join us as we learn Maimonides’ famous introduction to Chapter Chelek, containing his 13 Principles of Faith.
We will use bilingual edition of Moznaim Publishers, and the participants will receive a hard copy of the book, courtesy of Walter and Terri Winter, in memory of Terri’s father, Leonard Zucker – Rabbi Chayim Yehuda Leib ben Harav Yerachmiel Gedaliah & Elka, of blessed memory.
