Here's how to shop on AmazonSmile
Step 1: Visit smile.amazon.com
Step 2: Sign in to your Amazon account. If you have an Amazon account, you do not need to create a new account for AmazonSmile.
Step 3: You will be prompted to select a charity - search for Hillcrest Jewish Center and click the "Select" button on the right. You should see a pop up that says "Thank You. Now when you shop at smile.amazon.com, your purchases will support Hillcrest Jewish Center.
How to change your charity to support Hillcrest Jewish Center
Sign into your Amazon account on smile.amazon.com by following steps 1 through 3 listed above.
Step 4: Find "My Account" in the top right corner of the page and click on it. Under "My Account" select "Your AmazonSmile."
Step 4: Select the "Change charity" button on the right side of the screen.
Step 5: Type Hillcrest Jewish Center into the search bar and click the "Search" button.
Step 6: Under the search results click the "Select" button on the right next to Hillcrest Jewish Center. You should see a pop up that says "Thank You. Now when you shop at smile.amazon.com, your purchases will support Hillcrest Jewish Center.
How to set up AmazonSmile on the Amazon app
Once you have set up AmazonSmile on your desktop using the above steps. You may activate AmazonSmile on the Amazon app by following the steps below.
Step 1: Open the Amazon Shopping app on your phone or tablet. Then go to your Settings by tapping the three horizontal lines (aka the "hamburger") located at either the top left or bottom right of your screen (depending on your device) and tapping "Settings."
Step 2: Tap AmazonSmile
Step 3: Tap the button for "Turn on AmazonSmile." You’ll need to follow the three-step setup process. Note that Amazon requires you to turn on notifications to be able to use AmazonSmile on your phone.
Step 4: Make note of your renewal date. Amazon asks that you renew your AmazonSmile donation every six months. This is easy but required. When six months are up, you’ll have to choose your favorite charity again. If you don’t, purchases made until you do will not count.
